President Obama was heckled today at a San Francisco fundraiser by a table of contributors seeking freedom for Bradley Manning, the U.S. soldier accused of leaking classified information to Wikileaks.
In the song, the protestors said they would vote for Obama but expressed disappointment with him, singing “We’ve paid our dues, where’s our change?”
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Obama found the disturbance “kind of funny.”
But not since a an Iraqi threw his shoe at George W. Bush have I seen a president treated with so little respect. This is certainly a sign that the Obama mystique of 2008 has worn off completely.
